Verizon: Outage Planned Tonight

No calls, texts, or data with Verizon service later tonight. That's according to an update by the carrier. The outage is scheduled to accommodate construction, and will also prevent 9-11 calls from going out.

From Verizon, as of Tuesday, April 22nd, at 2:24pm:

Service for Verizon Wireless customers from Aspen to Glenwood Springs will be interrupted for approximately three hours in the early morning of Wednesday (4/23), as the Colorado Department of Transportation completes road construction that will require Comcast to relocate fiber optic lines serving the area.

Starting at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, nine cell sites from Aspen to Glenwood Springs will be offline while CDOT and Comcast work to complete the project by 5 a.m. Comcast estimates the project will take approximately three hours.

During that period, Verizon Wireless customers will not be able to make calls, including calls to 911, send or receive texts, or access data on their devices and cell phones.
