Neil Jung is a host of Jazz from Aspen.
I grew up in Landover, MD, suburban DC, son of a world class musician in the US Navy Band. I've had great music around me from the start, sang in all the school choirs and some musical shows, constantly had a transistor radio playing music while growing up in the 60s, and sang & played in bands with my brothers and others during my 23 years in California's Sierra Nevada, Calaveras & Alpine counties. I love to play with audio gear of all sorts, and my music collection grows constantly in several directions. I was a US Army Medical Corpsman in Vietnam and, later, a founding member of "The Bub Club" in Arnold, CA. I migrated to Aspen in '96, lucked into my fabulous jazz DJ gig at APR in '97, and have loved residing in the Frying Pan Valley since '98. I also worked as the volunteer non-Classical Music Director at APR for several years, with jazz as my major focus. I love to sing, and I appreciate many great vocalists, which is reflected in my shows by the number of vocal tracks I play. Can't think of a better place to live than here, or a more fun gig than jazz DJ at APR!
