Anne Tobey

Chairman, Board of Directors

Anne Coulter Tobey was born in Evanston, Illinois and grew up in the Village of Golf, IL.  She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University where she majored in English Literature. She was vice president and professional outplacement consultant for a Chicago based consulting firm before founding Coulter Consulting Group, which provides an alternative “inplacement” service to companies in the process of realigning talented employees and hiring for new positions.  Currently she works primarily with not-for-profit organizations and individuals who use her career assessment process to match people in jobs and advance their careers.  

In addition to her background as a career consultant, Anne has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.  She held a succession of posts at Harris Bank, Chicago, including positions in securities lending, marketing/sales of institutional trust services, communications and human resources development.  Anne’s community interests include art, education, literature and social services.  In Aspen she serves as trustee, Anderson Ranch Art Center and is a past board member of Aspen Public Radio.  She is actively engaged in support of the Aspen Community Foundation, the Pre Collegiate Program, Aspen Institute and English in Action.  

In Chicago, she is or has been active on boards or committees including the Antiquarian Society of the Art Institute of Chicago as well as the Old Masters Society and Fellows of the Art Institute; The University of Chicago Women’s Board; Northwestern University Women’s Board; The Fortnightly Society of Chicago and the Colonial Dames of Illinois.  

She resides in Old Snowmass and Chicago. She has four children and eight grandchildren.
